Hello There (for the 5th time)

Hi there! I’m Ming, and I’m a Millennial living in New York City working for corporate America. I’ve been an on-again, off-again blogger for about half my life now. I’ve decided to jump back into this world (probably my 5th time now) for a few reasons:

  • I need to brush up on my writing. Since completing grad school this past May, I’ve found it harder and harder making opportunities to write down my thoughts and to build cohesive arguments in writing. I’ve been keeping a running journal of my thoughts with DayOne, but because my writings are personal they lack structure and often go on rambling.
  • I want to keep track of my adventures… while not being sucked in by the need to capture everything that happens around me. Yes, it’s almost contradictory – the need to live my life while recording it too. Recording my adventures as blog posts would hopefully provide structure for me to better remember these events in my life… while I’m living them.
  • I want to collect interesting and inspiring tidbits of thought and share them. Nonfiction literature in the self-improvement, social sciences, and history genres are my go-to, and so I encounter quite a few great ideas on a daily basis. I’d like to have a place to jot them down… discuss them… and possibly inspire others as well.

So what’s this blog about?

2017 September: Walking down the Waihee Ridge Trail in Maui, HI

Since I’ve done this a looooot of times already, the focus of my posts for this blog would be on travel, plus a lot of segments on city life. Here and there, you’ll see a few posts on book reflections or my two cents on the newest productivity hacks. Most of my posts, however, would focus on pretty pictures of travel destinations and travel itineraries. Amen.

… so what’s in it for me?

To be honest, this blog is more for me than for you (sorry not sorry). I do hope you’ll be able to enjoy the photographs, be inspired by my travel experiences, and hopefully nudge you into some adventuring of your own! I’m also aiming to document complete itineraries of my travels, such that readers can appropriate the plans for their own use.

As always, feel free to comment with thoughts or suggestions!
